The featured products section of a Shopify store is a prime opportunity to showcase best-selling or newly released items, capturing visitors' attention and driving sales. Whether highlighting seasonal favorites, promoting exclusive collections, or spotlighting top-rated products, this section serves as a powerful tool for attracting customers and encouraging exploration. In this section, we'll explore the various settings and customization options available for the featured products section, empowering merchants to curate compelling product displays that effectively engage the audience and drive conversions.
The Settings Overview provides a comprehensive look at all the customization options available within the 'Featured products' section, allowing the merchant to create visually appealing and strategically curated product displays that showcase the best-selling or most relevant items.
Make section full width: Allows the user to use the full width of the screen (small gaps are left at both ends that cannot be absorbed).
Enable slider: It enables or disables the setting for manually sliding the products arranged in one row on different slides. If unchecked and more products than the maximum columns has been added, the products will stack vertically (please see the illustration below).
Enable arrows*: Gives the user the control to change the slides manually via the arrows in the top right corner.
Enable scrollbar*: Enables or disables the scrollbar right under the products.
* Note: Could be activated IF ONLY the Enable slider setting is turned on.
Enable autoplay: It enables or disables the setting for autoplaying the slideshow.
Change slides every: Gives the user the control to modify the interval in seconds for every slide to stand on the screen. It can vary from 3 to 10 seconds.
Maximum products to show: Gives the user the option to choose how many products to be visible in this section. They can vary from 6 to 20.
Number of columns on desktop: Gives the user the option to choose how many product columns to be presented on the desktop version. It can vary from 2 to 5.
Number of columns on tablet: Gives the user the option to choose how many product columns are to be presented on the tablet. It can vary from 2 to 4.
Number of columns on mobile: Gives the user the option to choose how many product columns to be presented on the mobile version. It can vary from 1 to 2.
Color scheme: With that setting, the user can choose the color scheme of the 'Featured products' section. For more information on setting up the color schemes, refer to Theme settings → Colors → Schemes.
Collection: Gives the user the option to select one collection of products to present.
Products: Gives the user the option to select products to present in the Feature products section.
Heading: Enter a heading for the section.
Caption: Enter a caption for the section.
Heading size: Gives control over the heading font size. One of three possibilities is to be chosen: Small, Medium or Large.
Horizontal content alignment: Gives control over the horizontal positioning of all the content. One of three possibilities is to be chosen: Left, Center or Right.
Button label: Enter a label for the button.
Button link: With that setting, the user can choose one of the store links or enter an external link for the button.
