Introduction:

While often overlooked, the footer of a Shopify store plays a crucial role in providing navigation, information, and reinforcement of the brand identity. Serving as the final touchpoint for visitors before they leave the site, a well-designed footer can enhance user experience, improve website usability, and even drive conversions. In this section, we'll explore the various settings and customization options available for optimizing the footer of a Shopify store, empowering merchants to create a cohesive and functional footer that leaves a lasting impression on the audience.

Settings Overview:

The Settings Overview offers a comprehensive examination of all customization options available within the 'Footer' section, enabling merchants to tailor this essential section of their Shopify store to meet specific needs and goals.

  • Make section full width: Allows the user to use the full width of the screen (small gaps are left at both ends that cannot be absorbed).

  • Enable payment icons: Enables or disables the icons of different payment methods available on the store. For setting up the payment methods, refer to Admin panel → Settings → Payments.

  • Enable Follow on Shop: Enables or disables the 'Follow on shop' button, which will appear right below the Newsletter block of the Footer section. A setup is needed prior to using this setting: First, install 'shop' app in your store. Second, link your 'shop' store to the shopify store via the app. At the end, enable the setting in the Footer section and enjoy.

  • Image on desktop: Select an image for the slide on the desktop version.

  • Image on mobile: Select an image for the slide on the mobile version.

  • Color scheme: With that setting, the user can choose the color scheme of the section. For more information on setting up the color schemes, refer to Theme settings → Colors → Schemes.

Add block:

The blocks can be moved manually, as per user preferences.

  • Brand details:

    • Logo: The user can select the logo while uploading an image or SVG file.

    • Logo SVG Code: Here, the logo SVG code could be directly put in.

    • Logo width on desktop: That setting gives control over the logo width on the desktop version. One of three possibilities is to be chosen: Small, Medium or Large.

    • Logo width on mobile: That setting gives control over the logo width on the mobile version. One of three possibilities is to be chosen: Small, Medium or Large.

    • Description: Enter a description for the block.

  • Menu: Up to 3 menu blocks.

    • Menu: Gives the user the option to select a menu to present it the Footer section. For setting up the menus, refer to Admin panel → Online store → Navigation.

    • Heading: Enter a heading to overwrite that one of the menu.

    • Link: With that setting, the user can turn the heading of the menu into a link to the desired store links or an external link.

  • Newsletter:

    • Heading: Enter a heading for the Newsletter block.

    • Description: Enter a description for the Newsletter block.

    • Show privacy note: Enables or disables the privacy note that states, 'By subscribing, you accept the Privacy Policy'
